The national environmental authority NEMA has today closed down five factories and arrested nine top managers in the companies alleged to be discharging harmful waste into Nairobi River. Closed companies include Daima Milk Processing Plant, Chloride Exide and as Elphas Lagat reports 56 companies have been closed in the crackdown in the last three months.
