Organization and people

Organization and people One of the things I reflect is the relationship between a person and an organization, because with the exception of a family or a tribe, organizations are not natural - and a person is very natural.
Until a certain point of history, there were three organizations: government, military and church or predominant religion. Because they were part of the tradition of its group, community or tribe, and as it is connected directly to the concept of tribe and in some cases, family, they were kind of an extension of the family or tribe.
But since the industrial revolution, women and men have been put together as a patch quilt.
After more than 100 years doing that, we have evolved alright and we take in consideration not only what the organization needs, but what people individually and in their team need. At some places, the organization has replaced the family or circle of friends in their hearts.
But it is still a struggle... Here are a few powerful questions that can bring some relief to that, for the organization:
* How much do we value to have quality among our professionals?
** If we do value high quality, in what extent can we afford in letting people be what they really are?
* What do we really want and we are open to pay its price: extraordinary or just ordinary results?
** If we do want extraordinary things happening, how much can we go investing in people as PEOPLE, so they grow beyond their professional careers?
* Of course we want success in our projects, but what is the link between that project and the team that was behind it?
** How do our leaders get involved with the team, by supporting them?
* We are looking for people who are committed, then how much do we invest in their multidimensional health?
* We love to have creative around, but how far can people go when they are creative?
** How many spaces do we have in terms of physical space or allocated time, for people to just being creative?
* If we really want the best people in our company, how much do we want to pay them?
** And in which extent are we paying them as a favor, retribution for their services or the value of their effort?
