If you've ever owned a pair of Bowflex Selecttech 552 or 1090 Series 1 or 2 adjustable dumbbells then you already know they are unsafe. Eventually the disk packs that retain the plates (i.e. the disks that keep the plates from falling on your face) warp, bend, crack and potentially snap. Plates become loose. And without a fix, you'll eventually hurt yourself or quit using the dumbbells. They become expensive paperweights. If not for the safety issues, I love using these dumbbells. So I created a permanent fix in the form of 6061 aluminum totally redesigned disks that are 100% compatible with the factory dumbbell handles. These disks hold the plates more tightly (goodbye annoying rattles) and more securely (no more threat of a plate falling on you or your equipment) than the cheap crappy plastic OEM disks.
