I really enjoy beekeeping - this is my second full year and I am learning so much all the time. In the spring I split the one hive I had into two. Later, I had two swarms which I successfully caught and put into new hives - one of them a very new things for me - a Top Bar Hive.
It is very difficult to film when I am inspecting the bees - I am looking forward to Owen or John getting a bee suit on next year and filming for me - but I managed to get some awesome pictures of the bees in the Top Bar Hive.
Then - all that liquid gold ! What a wonderful gift from these brilliant creatures!
I left most of the honey on the hives for the bees to keep and only took a little for me and my kids.
