The Scientific Way of Thinking using VERA - Part 1

The Scientific Way of Thinking using VERA - Part 1 To log in/sign up VERA:
To get started with a simple exercise:
Here are a list of models used in this course:
Model 1 (American hornbeam):
Model 2 (American hornbeam and Kudzu):
Model 3 (Kudzu bug; collapsed):
Model 4 (Kudzu bug; predator-prey cycle):
Model 5 (Goat):

We are developing a virtual teaching assistant called Jill Watson ( for helping VERA users learn about using VERA. To ask questions of Jill please join the slack channel:

Please keep in mind that Jill is still in experimental stage and thus not as perfect as the commercial tools. This version of Jill is trained to answer questions about the VERA's user's guide and reference document. See the examples below:

What is VERA?
What is VERA’s goal?
Can I run VERA on Google Chrome
What is a prey?
How do I add a relationship?
How do you clone a model?
How do I run a simulation?
What is carbon biomass?
What is the unit of respiratory rate?
What is exponential growth?
