It means the computer system of these businesses is connected now with FBR, and FBR can track and monitor their sales in real-time.
The requirement of POS integration is for tier-1 retailers. Here is the video explaining who are tier-1 retailers.
If you shop from these retailers, you will be charged sales tax at the rate of 17%.
Make sure to get the receipt and check for a separate entry of sales tax.
The integrated POS retailers will be required to sell only through their computer systems.
If you shop from any other retailer and they charge you a sales tax, ask a receipt and look for their sales tax registration number (STRN). Its a 13 digit number.
Beware, as some retailers may give you their NTN number, which contains 8 digits.
In both cases, you can verify it through the FBR website to check if they are registered or not.
Always ask for a receipt and keep those as FBR has a plan to introduce 5% cashback in the future.
