PMDs may be banned in Singapore if user behaviour does not improve: Janil Puthucheary Singapore Senior Minister of State for Transport Janil Puthucheary told Parliament on Oct 7
that personal mobility devices (PMDs) may be banned if user behaviour does not improve.
He added that the authorities will not let up on safety measures, even as it reviews it approach towards PMDs. From April 2020, PMDs must be inspected every two years to meet weight,
size, speed and fire safety criteria. The authorities are also considering additional measures
like import controls of non-compliant PMDs and revised penalties for illegally PMD-modification.
