Indian Army soldiers return home from the Kargil front, carrying their holdalls and suit cases with them, boarding trains from the northern front after the July 1999 skirmish. What a glorious homecoming off the Shalimar Express train. Someone makes a caricature and gets a soldier to sign it for him. Vendors sell eats and drinks to the soldiers. What a spirit of positivity, cheer and bonhomie between passengers and vardi wallahs!
