He previously worked for the Tamiment Library & Robert F. Wagner Labor Archives at New York University, and served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for Children (CASA). He has also worked as a union organizer, cab driver, truck driver, and a tractor operator.

Jason is currently writing his first book, with the working title Most American: Race, Memory, and the Heartland Myth.
