Jawa has launched its factory custom bobber, the Perak, in India at Rs 1.94 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). That’s Rs 30,500 more expensive than the standard Jawa. Bookings for the bike will begin from January 1 with deliveries commencing from April 2. It packs a bored-out 334cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled DOHC motor which makes 30.4PS and 31Nm, mated to a 6-speed transmission. The motor has been tweaked to comply with BS6 emission norms. In comparison, the standard Jawa produces 27.3PS and 28Nm from its BS4 293cc motor. In typical bobber fashion, the Perak uses chopped down front and rear fenders, a single-piece seat, and a unique swingarm similar to the Triumph Bonneville Bobber’s ‘swing cage’ swingarm. It also features a hidden preload-adjustable monoshock which offers a classic hard-tail look. Other mechanical bits include a telescopic fork and disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS from Continental. Its 18-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheels come wrapped in Ceat Zoom Cruz tyres measuring 100-section up front and 140-section at the rear.
