NUS researchers create new metallic material for flexible soft robots | #NUSInnovation A team of researchers from the National University of Singapore has developed a new metal-based material for use in flexible soft robots. The new material is half as light as paper while maintaining its flexibility to stretch and fold. In addition, it has enhanced characteristics including electrical conductivity, heat generation, fire-resistant, strain-sensing and is inherently capable of wireless communications. These features make the material a prime candidate for use in prosthetics as well as search and rescue robots.
