The appeal centred on police interviews, where he was treated only as a witness when officers knew he was a suspect in the case.
John King opened the case before Dame Victoria Sharp, Mr Justice Garnham and Mr Justice Chamberlain at the Royal Courts of Justice in central London. Louis Mably QC responded on behalf of the Crown.
The case had been referred to the Court of Appeal by the Criminal Cases Review Commission as a potentially unsafe conviction following a decision by the European Court of Human Rights that found Abdurahman's trial had been "irretrievably prejudiced".
