Loud bangs are heard in one video clip which shows shoppers, including families with young children, fleeing in terror at the Cumberland Mall in suburban Atlanta, Georgia. Witnesses claim they heard multiple gunshots in or near the food court. It is said that the shots were fired during a fight between people who knew each other. Shoppers told how they ran for their lives or hid inside locked shops with workers until armed police arrived to take control of the scene. One told how she ran out of a dressing room without a shirt on. Walking Dead actor Skylar Felton, who featured in the AMC series' seventh season, was among those who was forced to flee to safety. Sources told CBS46 that at least one person was injured. Witnesses told of chaos inside the mall when shots were fired at about 1.30pm local time on Saturday. A Twitter user wrote: "I'm at Cumberland mall in Atlanta where there's a shooting people are running out the mall in crowds panicking hiding behind things inside of stores, people are locking people inside of stores. Multiple shots I heard while inside the mall." Another wrote: "There was a shooting in the food court at Cumberland Mall. I hope everyone is safe, prayers going up." A third added: "Please do not come to #cumberlandmall there was a shooting and I was locked in a store. I have successfully made it out and we’re all trying to get out of parking lot. I’m seeing people continue to pull into mall. Please stay away at this time." A woman wrote on Facebook: "It's a shooting in Cumberland Mall. Please do not come here. I ran out the dressing room without a shirt on. I heard the gun shot and saw people running. We are locked in the back of New York &Company store. I'm fine." Social media users said the shooting happened during a fight. One wrote: "It was apparently a shooting incident between two people. We heard several other fights happen in the aftermath. The police have cleared all shoppers from the mall. Now we’re in our car waiting to exit this massive gridlock." A shopper who posted a video on Instagram said: "I'm stuck inside Cumberland Mall. There was a shootout. We are safe. Do not come anywhere near Cumberland Mall."
