Before I went in, knowing it was more complex and risky than your usual Coronary Artery Bypass Graft procedure, I was assured I'd make it.
It turned out that I developed a condition called Tamponade which can cause your heart to stop bleeding.
My amazing nurses saved me. NikhilAutar.com/nurses to hear what I think of them. They're awesome ( nikhilautar.com/mybooks to read that too btw ! )
I survived that though. HUGE thanks to the doctors and nurses at RNSH. They truly went above and beyond the call of duty. Not only did they keep me sane, they treated my parents like human beings. The first time that's ever happened in hospital. My poor mum cried when she got a mattress from the nurses. She was so confused. A truly remarkable hospital. I'm definitely gonna be donating some amount to their ICU unit for sure.
www.nikhilautar.com/thankyouRNSH for the letter I sent the doctors/nurses there saying thanks.
Another interesting thing... prior to going in, I'd posted this on the Old School Runescape Subreddit. The post went viral... getting like 18k upvotes and I was shocked.
Now this is a game I used to play growing up. My fondest memories are on there. But then I started getting serious about school. When I got sick though, and ended up spending what must be almost a year in hospital straight though, I NEEDED something to do. To keep my mind off things. To relax myself. And to have FUN when everything else was so damn boring.
And Runescape was just that.
Thanks to everyone who commented something or gave me words of encouragement. Let me know if there's any way I can repay you. I'm always here to talk and listen.
And yeah guys. I've got a few months of rehab to do. I'll likely see you guys here, working on my startup/research and around!
Thanks everyone.
