Pre Ride Workout, Trail Maintenance & Finally Sending the 30 Foot Ladder Drop | December 13, 2019

This is one of my favorite trails its a legitimate DH trail that has everything. Its one of the gnarliest trails in SoCal its fast, steep, tech & chunky. Videos never do this trail justice. Chris and Francisco went early to do some trail maintenance and we joined when we got there. We built a transition about 6 feet from the 2nd Rock drop so now you can huck the boulder. We also put a transition on that boulder 30 feet from the ladder drop so its not as harsh if you want to full send it.
I remember riding this trail for the first time about 2 1/2 years ago, we had about 11 riders and 6 of the bikes were taken out. I had blown my Vivid Coil shock on it, the other bikes were blown forks and broken derailleurs. This is a legitimate DH trail and the locals have put in a ton of work.
I remember seeing the ladder drop on YouTube and on the first run 4 of us got bucked on the landing. There is a valley under the ladder so there is a transition about 10 feet out then it flattens and then inclines onto a boulder about 30 feet out. So if you go 15 feet you will land to flat, if you go 20 feet you will land on the incline and get bucked so you either go slow and land 10 feet out or you full send it to land 30 feet over the incline and boulder. This ladder drop over the boulder has always mind fucked me and I finally got the balls to full send it. Chris and Jaime "banh mi" sandwiched me and towed me in. I was so stoked because I didnt think I would ever have the balls to hit it. Riding with bad ass riders like Chris and Jaime really helped me hit big features like this. I also owe a huge thanks to DVO ever since they dialed my suspension my bike is a different animal, I am so confident on it now.
