Photographs are fairly new to the world, and our earliest photographs have only been around for less than 200 years. A very small portion of our history has been fortunate enough to be documented forever through black-and-white photographs. So many important moments in the growth of the United States can be seen through snapshots taken in everyday life of the early 20th century. However, in today’s society, as we view those same black-and-white images, it may be difficult to grasp just how similar the world we know today is to the one we see in the photos. The black-and-white visuals can almost make it seem as if the places in those images are a completely different world. But, with these 54 colorized versions of these photos that were once black-and-white, we can start to understand that the world we know has seen many faces and events happen through the years.
