Artificial Intelligence creates a video from several photos

This isn't a video, or some fancy 3D model, this is a small number of photos of a space which have had the "gaps filled in" by artificial intelligence.

The images in the top right hand side are the source material, while the main picture is the result after Google 's Deep Stereo AI system has worked out what the intervening frames would look like.

Developed primarily to make navigating Google Maps StreetView a more seamless experience, imagine just how much technology like this could reduce video file sizes and transfer times, with a fraction of the frames having to be sent from place to place, to be interpreted and reconstructed at the other end by AI.

This technology could also be used to construct free-roaming 360 walkthroughs of heritage spaces, retail spaces or industrial sites from a relatively small number of still images.
