Goa Governor Satya Pal Malik has stated that the Mining case is in Supreme Court, and that Government is exploring all legal options to resume mining activities in Goa. Making his maiden speech at the Legislative Assembly, Malik has informed that in spite of mining ban, global economic slowdown, Goa’s GDP has grown by 9.8 % during 2018-19 with a per capita income of Rs 5.04 lakh which is the highest in the Country.
He has stated that his Government is conscious about Mhadei which affects every Goan and that the Government is taking all efforts to prevent water diversion outside the river basin. Stating that the crime rate has declined by 10.4 %, Governor has informed that Police is also taking strict measures against drugs menace. Malik has stated that Goa Government is aiming to achieve Housing for all by 2022.
