How your pension is probably fuelling climate change When it comes to the climate change crisis, eating meat, air travel and plastic waste are some of the main culprits that first spring to mind.

But what you might not know is that there’s a strong chance your pension is contributing to the global climate crisis too.

If you have a full-time job, you’ll already know how money is taken out of your pay check each month and put into a pension pot. From there, it’s invested to generate a return so you have a bunch of savings to use when you retire. But do you know where the money is invested in the first place?

Pension funds are some of the world’s largest investors holding trillions of dollars in assets - and many have put billions into fossil fuels.
