CHOOSING THE RIGHT SKI WAIST WIDTH: 98mm vs. 116mm

CHOOSING THE RIGHT SKI WAIST WIDTH: 98mm vs. 116mm Whats up everyone?! More of a sit down video today! I thought I'd talk a little about ski waist width or underfoot and how to choose the right waist width for your skiing style!

I do not have a lot of experience on other ski widths like a 108 or 120, so I thought it would be the most fair to talk directly about my time on a 98 and a 116 and briefly mention the other options that are out there.

When it comes to waist width, it really is personal preference. Other factors will go into your decision like the type of skier you are, the type of conditions you usually ski and the density of the snowpack where you usually ride.

For instance, the PNW usually receives heavier and more wet snow, while out here in Utah, we have a lot more dry snow - something a smaller ski might be better in, but a wider ski might be best in the thick and heavier snow.

Are you skiing mostly the terrain park or just groomers with your kids? Or are you charging down 40 degree slopes dropping down cliffs and rocks??

Either way, there is so much that goes into picking the right ski size so hopefully this sheds a little light on how to choose the correct ski width! If you guys want more information on this, I can go more in depth and do a more complex video!

Thanks for watching and see you guys next time!!
