I Settled My Work Comp Case and Have Been Paid. If I Have Future Medical Care for this Same Injury, Will I Be Paid While Off Work?

If you have settled your case which included you receiving compensation (also known as indemnity benefits), there is not a mechanism under Alabama workers’ compensation laws that will allow you to be paid when you are off work due to continue medical care for these same injuries. However, if you have short or long term disability insurance, Social Security Disability benefits or some other similar policy in place, you might be able to apply for compensation from one of them.
