Life after Brexit: EU publishes negotiating guidelines for trade talks with UK, Barnier explains

A little more than 48 hours after Britain’s historic departure from the European Union, EU Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier is presenting the EU27's mandate for negotiations with the UK as the clock is ticking on the 11-month transition period.

"Our aim is to conclude an ambitious partnership with the UK," Barnier says who adds the UK will no longer be able to benefit from the rights and advantages of EU membership.

Earlier today, the EU published its draft negotiating guidelines for the trade talks with the UK. They have only just been approved.
