An experiment about the phenomenon of static electricity in simple terms in order to fulfill my college assignments. The explanation :
The ruler that rubbed into the cloth(towel) becomes electrically charged. It's because the electrons from the cloth move to the plastic ruler, so that the plastic ruler has an excess of electrons. Finally the plastic ruler becomes negatively charged and is attractive in small and light objects including small pieces of paper and empty can.
