Weinstein accuser: I'm prepared for any verdict

Weinstein accuser: I'm prepared for any verdict (10 Feb 2020) WEINSTEIN ACCUSER: I'M PREPARED FOR ANY VERDICT

Harvey Weinstein's sexual assault trial has unfolded this past month in a 15th floor courtroom in New York City, but its reverberations are being felt far and wide as dozens of other women who say he terrorized them anxiously await the outcome.

They wonder how the Hollywood titan's wealth and power might affect the verdict.

They wince at the way fellow accusers have been being badgered on the witness stand.

And they recoil at the familiar descriptions of Weinstein's behavior behind closed doors.

One of these women is Katherine Kendall.

Kendall sat through fellow accuser Annabella Sciorra's cross-examination early in the trial and noticed how similar many of the Weinstein accusations are.

"It's been so many years, so many women have been affected, countless women really, and the patterns are very similar. And when I listen to the witness, witnesses I I have so much empathy because so many of the nuances, so many of the words they use. Exactly. Are exactly the same as things that I went through," said Kendall.

She endured what she calls a strenuous cat-and-mouse game at Weinstein's apartment in New York in 1993, which she says she was fortunate enough to escape.

Afterward, the 23-year-old moved to the West Coast and took a more cautious approach to her acting career.

"The shame is the first thing that engulfs you. And then the helplessness about what to do. You know, who do I tell? How can I take action?" said Kendall.

Kendall said she is prepared for any outcome, but that she believes "he deserves to be behind bars."
