Commissioner of Police Cyberabad Meets the Heads of IT Companies over COVID-19

Cyberabad: Cyberabad Commissioner of Police, Sri V C Sajjanar, IPS, the Nodal Officer to monitor COVID -19 in Cyberabad, along with SCSC, Hysea & Nasscom, called for an interactive meeting with the Centre Heads, HR Heads and the Facility Heads from the IT Industry to review and discuss the concerns, updates and the preventive measures to be taken to contain the panic situation that was created due to one un-confirmed COVID - 19 case at Raheja Mind Space.

The commissioner has updated that, the report form National Institute of Virology, Pune has come out to be negative for virus for COVID-19.

The Commissioner, while answering the queries of the attendees has advised the below;

§ Not to believe and follow any rumours, unless they are verified and duly validated by authorities

§ He assured that the current situation is Business As Usual (BAU) and in any manner does not warrant shutting down the operations or direct employees to Work from Home

§ Companies should report to the Cyberabad Police about the false messages / rumours and the Cyberabad Police will take action against such individuals

§ As per Health dept, wearing Masks are not required for healthy and un-affected persons. It is advised for those who are ill with symptoms.

§ Suggested to form a Standard operating system for Validation of the Rumours

§ Dial 104 in case of any suspect identified with COVID-19 symptoms

§ All employees are advised not to spread / share any rumours unless they are vetted by himself or the Heads of the Companies

§ All companies are advised to cascade the advisory mails & circulars to all its employees and contractors

§ To prevent the spread of the virus it is advised to clean the premises frequently and also use sanitisers and wash the hands regularly

Based on request from members, a standard operating protocol will be published soon by him.

Representatives of major and other 180 IT Companies have attended the meeting and got their queries addressed.

This meeting was held under the Chairmanship of the Commissioner of Police Cyberabad attended by the SCSC General Secretary Mr. Krishna Yedula, SCSC Vice Chairman Mr. Bharani Kumar Arol, HYSEA President Mr. Murali Bollu, HYSEA COO Mr. Srinivas, NASSCOM Director Mr. Srikant Srinivasan and STPI Director Mr. Ram Prasad.
