How women are becoming the face of resistance in India This International Working Women's Day, we look at the struggle for citizenship rights led by Indian women, particularly those belonging to the minority Muslim community. Since the discriminatory Citizenship (Amendment) Act became law in India, there have been continuous mass protests opposing it. Across the country, women are leading 24x7 sit-ins against this act going by the example set by the women of Shaheen Bagh in Delhi. Githa Hariharan, founding member of the Indian Cultural Forum, talks about these protests.
