Both the ITX-Saemaul and the Mungunghwa run on different, slower speed lines than the high speed KTX trains.

To give an idea of the speed of the different trains here are some approximate journey times that you can expect from the different classes of trains when traveling between Seoul and Busan or vice-versa:
Korea Train Express (KTX): 2 hours and 40 minutes
ITX-Saemaul: 4 hours and 40 minutes
Mungunghwa: 6 hours
