Mr Kenny said it was an “issues rich environment” for question time in parliament today.
“Love them or loath them, the opposition seemed to work out today that the economy, and the implications for the government's budget surplus might be worth a probing question or two,” he said.
“This debate, this issue, the economy and how it responds to whatever is thrown at it, and how the government handles all that, as ever, will be the story of the year.”
