There are four kinds of pronouns:
1. Personal Pronouns: Pronouns that stand for persons are called personal pronouns. Personal pronouns can be divided into three persons as follows:
Pronoun 1st person (the person speaking) words used in this: I, me, we, us
Pronoun 2nd person (the person spoken to) word used in this: you
Pronoun 3rd person (the person spoken about) words used in this: he, she, him, her, it, they, them
- I am a girl.
- You are an intelligent boy.
- He is my uncle.
2. Possessive Pronouns: They are used to show ownership.
- Suman is a friend of mine.
- I love listening to his singing.
3. Demonstrative Pronouns: They are used to point out the objects to which they refer.
- This is my book. That is yours.
- These are my shoes.
- Those are his books.
4. Interrogative Pronouns: They are used for asking questions.
- What do you like?
- Who broke the window?
- Whose house is this?
