The Strictly Come Dancing contestant, revealed that the past year has been hard for her ‘in terms of trolling’, although going to see a therapist was ‘the best thing’ she has ever done.‘I would say I’m still on a journey. I’m still in therapy so I’m still learning how to communicate with my emotions more,’ she began. The 35-year-old former footballer went on to explain that initially, she tried to ignore the negative comments, but it became too difficult. She continued to The Sun: ‘It’s easy for people to say, ‘Well why don’t you come off social media? Why don’t you not react to them? Why don’t you tell your family and friends? ‘But I didn’t want to tell my family and friends because I didn’t want to put that pressure on them, I didn’t want them to worry.’ Following her experience, Alex has vowed not to let the trolls force her off social media and she wants others to realise there is no shame about speaking out about it. Alex appeared on last year’s series of Strictly Come Dancing and her journey came to an end when she appeared in the bottom two – with the judges choosing Chris Ramsay to stay. Eventually, after gaining an early advantage with Craig Revel-Horwood and Motsi Mabuse both choosing to save Alex and dance partner Neil Jones, things took a turn with Bruno opting to save Chris and Karen. The decision meant it came down to head judge Shirley Ballas to make the decision – and she chose to save Chris and Karen. Speaking about her time on Strictly she said: ‘I’ve loved every moment and I have to thank everyone, and everyone behind the scenes to make this show work.’ ‘I’ve literally lived out another dream,’ she added. ‘I had football and then this chapter.’ Metro.co.uk has reached out to Alex Scott’s reps for a comment.
