Hundred of protesters surrender to police from besieged PolyU

Hundred of protesters surrender to police from besieged PolyU Hong Kong's TVB News is reporting that about one hundred people have voluntarily left the besieged Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), surrendering themselves to the police. The university has been the center of an intense stand-off between police and anti-government protesters since last week. They were accompanied by a former speaker of the Legislative Council and several high school principals. Some minors were allowed to go home without being arrested. But police say they could still be prosecuted. On Monday, dozens of protesters staged a dramatic escape from the university. They descended down along a hosing hanging from a bridge and fled on waiting motorbikes.
