Since starting this Youtube channel I've fished with the Penn Pursuit 2 spinning reels weekly. I can personally say they are easy to work on, reasonably priced and fishing catching machines. Not only have I caught a lot of fish on this model spinning reel, I've also caught some very big fish on the too. The problem is that they have been discontinued due to the 3 model released in 2019. So in order to be able to offer my viewers up to date products that I personally use I upgraded to the new model. Also, I have a hard time passing up an amazing deal on fishing gear.
Just because the PENN Pursuit 3 4000 has a cheap price on it right now doesn't mean that it isn't good. No! These reels have the same design as the Pursuit 2 models, but with several upgrades.
