Defence Minister and senior BJP leader Rajnath Singh said the issue of absenteeism among BJP MPs from Parliament was raised at the parliamentary party meeting on Tuesday, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi was dissatisfied with lack of their adequate presence on many occasions. Rajnath Singh had reportedly asked party MPs to be present in large numbers when Home Minister Amit Shah tabled the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, asserting that this draft legislation is as important as the move to abrogate Article 370.
