Multicap Tasmania is seeking a host family to provide accommodation and supervision for a young man who will be attending Launceston College (Year 11) this year. The family would welcome a kind, polite, funny, witty and engaging young man into their home during school terms. Returning to his rural home on weekends, he is looking for a supportive and engaging family environment throughout the week. The young man has a disability although he is becoming increasingly more independent. The host family will require the ability to implement some strategies to provide the best support to him. The host family may have other children living at home, although this is not essential. Ideally, we are seeking a family that can support him to access activities in the community on weeknights.
Schooling is an important part of anyone’s life and there will be considerable support available to the family to ensure it is a rewarding arrangement for everyone.
Ideally, we would be looking for a family who is living in an area with public transport and/or within easy proximity to the city.
Multicap Tasmania will build a support network around the host family with a remuneration arrangement made between the host family and the family of the young man.
